To many, the word “design” often feels complicated, intangible or impractical. At Green City, the design process is never scary or overwhelming. It’s important to us that your design and our process be personalized and pragmatic – but also exciting and fun! To us, the actual design is as essential as the process itself.

To some, “the devil’s in the details” is a throwaway expression. To Green City Landscapes, it’s a mantra. No matter the scope of the project, Green City follows its own detailed internal checklist to make sure no stone (pun intended!) is left unturned when planning, estimating and constructing your outdoor living space.

    The Green City Design+Build Process™

    After an interactive consultation and site analysis, Green City will work with you to determine the project’s scope, overall objectives and the appropriate design level to meet your needs. We will assist you in establishing realistic goals and in prioritizing your project’s budget. From start to finish, our process keeps you involved and informed.

  2. Step 1

    Initial Consultation

    1. Needs Assessment & Style Session – uncovers both your objectives as well as your aesthetic values
    2. Site Analysis & Measurements – a full audit of existing materials, light exposure, utilities, circulation, grade, etc.
    3. Initial Design Exploration – allows a designer to offer a client some immediate feedback and ideas

    Next, the designer completes a scaled base plan utilizing the measurements taken. Some initial concepts and functional diagrams are explored on paper. The final, custom design is created for presentation at the appointment to follow.

  3. Step 2

    Design Plan Presentation

    1. Your Design Plan – is presented through an original hand-drawn rendering
    2. Material Specification Sheet and/or Planting Plan – to help you visualize the textures and colors
    3. Proposal – the installation and build costs are reviewed along with an estimated timeline to complete the work
  4. Step 3

    Build Phase Begins

    1. Project Deposit – once received, the materials are ordered to guarantee availability
    2. Construction Schedule – an estimated start date and completion schedule is developed
    3. The Transformation Begins – when the Green City crew arrives, your design is turned into a reality!
